Conflict zone photojournalist Lynsey Addario will give a virtual endowed lecture for Bridgewater College next week. WMRA's Randi B. Hagi reports.
On March 22nd at 7 p.m., Lynsey Addario will speak via Zoom on "Leaving Your Comfort Zone: The Importance of Art." She's currently on assignment in Ukraine for the New York Times.
Addario has documented life, oppression, and war in Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Congo, Sudan, and in Libya, where she was one of the four New York Times journalists kidnapped in 2011. She has received numerous awards throughout her career, including a MacArthur Fellowship or "Genius Grant" and a Pulitzer Prize. In 2014, Addario was the official photographer for the Nobel Peace Prize Exhibition, and the next year she was named one of the five "most influential photographers" of the past 25 years by American Photo magazine.
