My wife and I saw the Ansel Adams exhibit at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts yesterday and were disappointed. The photographs are wonderful, of course, and recordings of AA's beautiful piano concertos were playing in the background, but the lighting provided to the exhibit was shamefully bad. Overly warm (yellow!) light shone from far too high above rendered the prints muddy and way too dark.
Most fun was discovering the Curbside Cafe eatery a short walk from the museum.

Saw the Ansel Adams exhibit yesterday and it was wonderful! He is the master of light and composition. I definitely recommend it to any photographer. The exhibit will come down Jan. 2nd, so this month will be your last chance. Man Ray, the Paris Years was also an exhibit worth seeing. And lunch at the VMFA 3rd floor restaurant was a real treat! A great way to spend a day!
