Regional Workshops

The following groups organize a variety of workshops throughout the year. Be sure to sign up for their individual newsletters or visit their sites regularly for workshop schedules, locations, prices and topics.

UVa Personal Enrichment to host three courses by John Hulburt fall 2014 starting in September. Courses are 8 weeks and include one or more field trips. Offered will be Creative Digital (level 1), Intermediate and Advanced. The latter two will be offered in succession. Registration opens August 1st. Joshua Taylor is an award-winning photographer and Canon camera instructor who offers a number of workshops, classes and lectures in architectural, garden and outdoor subjects. He has conducted workshops at the Smithsonian National Orchid Show, Longwood Gardens, U.S. National Arboretum, U.S. Botanic Garden, Brookside Gardens, Virginia State Arboretum (Blandy Farm), American Horticultural Society Garden School, and Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge.

Blue Ridge Workshops states its goal is "to create a community of existing and future photographers and artists who want to learn new photographic techniques and artistic expressions that will energize their photographic and creative skills".

Corey Hilz Workshops Judy Edwards knows him and has taken his Gainesville flowers workshop; an excellent instructor; small groups.

Gerlach Nature Photography Workshops and a newsletter with easy-to-understand photo information.

Mountain Trail Photo is a year-round source for hands-on nature photography workshops, tours, digital imaging instruction and monthly competitions.

Rocky Mountain School of Photography Well-run and informative for all levels.

Rod Barbee Photography Workshops mainly in the west. Vicky Dye, many-times judge for CCC, has attended several and she is assisting him during his next Oregon workshop.

Washington Photo Safari Short, photo-learning safaris throughout the year in the N.VA & DC areas—a great way for you to improve your photo knowledge and have fun at the same time.

Victoria Dye Photography can help you enter the complex world of digital photography. I offer consultations and classes covering a broad range of digital topics such as choosing and using the right digital camera for you, using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements (popular digital editing software) and setting up your own digital dark room in home or office.
