July 2025 Meeting
Frames can be any number of things that seem to wrap around or partially enclose your subject. Doorways, windows, low hanging branches, building arches, and fences are just a few objects that can create natural frames, all of which can be used effectively to emphasize your subject. They can add depth, contrast, structure, and even a sense of mystery to your photos. Indoors and out, frames can add impact to your photos.
The judge this month is Cheryl Opperman. Cheryl is a nationally recognized nature photographer, whose photos have won major competitions including the Windland Smith Rice International Awards (wildlife), the National Wildlife Photography Awards (birds), the International Photography Awards (travel/tourism), and the Nature’s Best International Photography Awards (people in nature). Cheryl leads nature and wildlife workshops and tours in a variety of locations in the United States and abroad.
