July 2019 Meeting

Thursday, July 11, 2019 - 6:00pm
Judge:
Randall Sanger
Theme:
Colors, Loud and Quiet

Colors can be beautiful in both bold and subtle ways. Great masses of color; quiet hints of color, complimentary colors, clashing colors, colors that make a statement, colors that inspire, excite, calm. How well can you use color to make a photographic statement, loud or quiet or something in between?

Randall Sanger will serve as both judge and presenter for our July meeting. Randall is a landscape and nature photographer based in Williamson, West Virginia. He literally wrote the book on waterfall photography--actually two books. The second edition of his most recent one--Waterfalls of Virginia and West Virginia--was released in June, 2018. Randall leads photography workshops throughout West Virginia and beyond and offers individual instruction. His images have been widely published and are included in a number of private and corporate collections. Besides showcasing the natural beauty of West Virginia, he hopes to inspire others to preserve and protect the many special places found in the Mountain State.
Randall will give a presentation titled "Waterfall Photography: Capturing Dramatic Light."
