April 2018 Meeting

Thursday, April 12, 2018 - 6:00pm
Judge:
Brian Zwit
Theme:
CURVES

Curves are a great compositional tool for leading your eye through a photograph. They are dynamic and can add energy, motion, tension, and balance to an image. They might be in the shape of an arch, an S-curve, or maybe even a circle. Consider a curvy road, a spiral staircase, a rainbow, or the roundness of some fruit. Once you start looking for them, curves are everywhere!

For the first meeting at our new location at Westminster Canterbury, our competition will be judged by Brian Zwit. An avid outdoorsman, Brian's photography features landscapes, wildlife and fauna in locations that are accessible only by hiking and backpacking. Brian has taught workshops and classes and led field trips for over ten years. He is a recognized expert in digital workflow with Lightroom, Photoshop, Nik software, and other editing applications.

The program will be presented by Don Rosenberger. Don partners with Denise Silva in Road Runner Photography which offers photo tours of scenic locations in the U.S. and abroad, organizes meetups, and provides instruction in photography and post-processing. The subject of Don's program will be light painting.
