While cleaning off my desk this morning I came across a note I made some time ago on how others see our photos. I have no idea who said it, and it may even have been my own thought, so take it for what it's worth--especially as it relates to how judges assess our work. "You can create a photograph, and that photo can capture your own view and understanding and appreciation of the subject, but you can't control how that same photo is seen or understood or appreciated (or not) by others."
