August 2017 Meeting

Thursday, August 10, 2017 - 6:00pm
Judge:
Patty Hankins
Theme:
Shadows

Drama can be achieved in an image when a shadow becomes a major component of that image. Capturing shadows effectively and creatively could mean hunting down interesting shadows that already exist, or it could mean creating shadows that weren’t there. What will you do with shadows in your photography? To see some creative use of shadows in photography go to the following website: http:// www.lightstalking.com/photographing-shadows/

Judging our photo competition in August will be Patty Hankins, a nature and landscape photographer from Bethesda, MD. Patty specializes in photography of flowers and will present a program titled "The Secrets of Great Flower Photography." Patty leads photography workshops that include flower photography, both in the studio and in the field, cyanotyping, and instruction in Lightroom and Photoshop. Galleries of her images can be viewed at http://beautifulflowerpictures.com/store/.
