Photo rights grab contracts

Food for thought: Although not an issue for most of us, working photographers continue to face photo rights grab contracts when going about their work. Latest example, Taylor Swift. She recently cried foul when Apple wasn't going to pay musicians during a free trial period. Apple has reversed course & will compensate artists for their work. Bravo, artists should benefit for their hard work. Now turn the coin over and it turns out Ms. Swift is denying concert photographers the right to just compensation for their images. According to a story on PetaPixel, she & her management/reps can actually destroy a photographers gear on the spot for violating the terms of the contract. One can get around this by not signing the contract but then they can't shot the event. It's a lose/lose situation for working photographers. I bring up the point because I would hate to see these kind of situations creep into the amateur photographer's realm. These kind of things tend to trickle down if allowed to.
