Workshop--Light from Behind

Tuesday, February 18, 2020 - 6:30pm to 8:45pm

In anticipation of our assigned theme in April, this workshop will introduce you to the concept of backlighting--where the main source of lighting comes from behind your subject. The workshop, through many examples submitted by members, will clarify what is considered to be a backlit subject and what isn't. It will also provide tips for making the most of light from behind and avoiding the pitfalls and overcoming the challenges that present themselves in this kind of photography.

Backlighting often requires that you use different light metering modes, exposure compensation settings, exposure-lock, and fill-flash. If you are unfamiliar with these techniques, bring your camera and your camera user's manual to the workshop and we'll give you some one-on-one help.(It's a lot easier than it may sound!)

Hope to see you there!
