Printer repair?

Is there anyone in town who repairs Canon photo printers? My Canon Pro-100 is acting up and needs a fix, but Canon says the closest repair shop is in Sterling. Just not worth sending or taking it up there.

And if I have to get a new printer, does anyone have a recommendation? My research up to this point is pointing to either the Canon Pro-1000 or the Epson P800.

Thanks for any help!

Gerry

I got my Canon Pixma 100 at Crutchfield's. Maybe they could recommend a printer repair service.

Thanks for the suggestion, Toni. I hadn't thought of them, and subsequently went off and bought a replacement--another Pro-100. Got it from B&H with a $250 rebate that brought the price down to less than what one would pay for a full rack of ink. My other one is sitting around until I get around to having it recycled.

As I'm somewhat new to the club please allow me to add to this thread as opposed to starting a new one on basically the same subject; getting a printer repaired. However, mine is an Epson R3000. I think it's just with the print head but one of the blacks is all but completely dead and multiple (>8) cleanings doesn't help. Does anyone know anybody that does printer repairs somewhat close (at least closer than Sterling)?

I don't have a recommendation for printer repair, but I would again call Crutchfield and ask their advice. They've always been helpful for me.
